LEWISTOWN - Nancy L. Aurand, 75, of Jonna Drive, Beavertown, passed away at 11:47 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital in Lewistown.
She was born on June 19, 1938, in Beaver Springs, a daughter of the late W. Donald and Grace M. (Walter) Felker. On March 22, 1956, she married her husband of 58 years, Jerre I. Aurand, who survives.
Nancy attended Beaver Vocational and graduated from West Snyder High School.
She had previously been employed at Mattern's Hatchery in Beaver Springs, Shirk's Flowers in Beavertown and eventually worked alongside her husband owning and operating the funeral homes in McClure and Beavertown for more than 40 years.
Nancy was an active member of Beaver Lutheran Church, where she was a member of WELCA and the Altar Guild and attended the young adults Sunday school class.
She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Beavertown Home and School Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Michelle Aurand, of Avondale; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Doug Kline, of Beaver Springs; two grandchildren, Jerre Thomas and wife, Stephanie, of Beavertown, and Rhiannon Aurand, of Avondale; one stepgranddaughter, Ayesha Berrier and husband, Gary, of Franklinton, N.C.; one great-grandson, Landen Thomas; one stepgreat- grandson, Garrett Berrier; one brother-in-law, Darwin Aurand and wife, Lisa, of Shermans Dale; one sister-in-law, Lynn Felker, of Brownstown Charter Township, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by one brother, William D. Felker.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, at Beaver Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Nathan Baker-Trinity officiating. After the service, burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Beavertown.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, at the church.
