LEWISTOWN Robert C. Held, 80, of Lewistown, died at 2:15 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at his home.

Born Dec. 10, 1933, in West Collingswood, N.J., he was the son of the late Henry F. and Frances (Lutz) Held.

He is survived by: his wife, Nancy L. (Griffith) Held, whom he married on Nov. 8, 1958; his sons, Brian D. Held and his wife, Cathy, and Gregory A. Held, both of Lewistown; grandchildren, Nichole, Olivia, Lundyn and Noah; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Taylor, Brynn and Lily; and his siblings, Raymond Allen and wife, Judy, of Severn, Md., Diane Mohr and husband, William, of Lewistown, William J. Dougherty and wife, Sue, of Burnham, and Patricia Goss and husband, Donald, of Lewistown.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. He was then employed at Mark Advertising Specialty Company.

He was a member of the Grove Memorial United Methodist Church where he served on the Council of Trustees, was a past president of the IHS Class of the Sunday school and past president of the administration council of the church.

He was a past president of the Mifflin County Jaycees and JCI Senator, Mifflin-Juniata American Cancer Society, a past member of the advisory board of Ohesson Manor, past member of the Lewistown Kiwanis Club, a past member of the Lewistown Borough Planning Commission and Secretary of the Water Authority.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, with Pastor Teresa Fink officiating.

His family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church.

Memorial contributions in Robert's memory can be made to the Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, 451 S. Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
