McCLURE - William Baird Hawk, 71, of Stage Road, McClure, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1942, a son of Julia (Snook) Hawk and the late Claude Hawk.
Mr. Hawk was a graduate of West Snyder High School.
After school, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He had previously been employed at Standard Steel in Burnham, until retiring.
Mr. Hawk was a member of Christ Church in Beaver Springs.
He also was a member of the McClure Rod and Gun club and enjoyed hunting and recycling scrap metal.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by: three sons and daughters-in- law, Rick and Stacey Hawk, Randy and Sandy Hawk, and Brad and Deb Hawk, all of Selinsgrove; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Jack Wagner, of McClure, and Harriet and Gerald Botdorf, of McClure; and grandchildren, Jessica Hawk, Meghan Hawk, Randy Ladawn Hawk, Andrew Hawk, Kimberly (Hawk) Webb, Stephanie Hawk, Cody Hawk and Joshua Hawk.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Christ Church in Beaver Springs, with Pastor Doug Miller officiating.
Friends and family will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, at the church.
Arrangements are under the care of Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
