LEWISTOWN - The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning that will remain in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the weather service, the advisory is in effect for Mifflin and Juniata counties. The weather service predicts there will be 4 to 8 inches of snow and up to one-tenth of an inch of ice.
The weather services says the snow will become heavy at times during the pre-dawn and early morning hours today. Snow could mix with or change to sleet and freezing rain this morning. The wintry precipitation will end by this afternoon.
The weather service says there will be dangerous travel conditions due to the snow and ice covered roads and there will be reduced visibility.
The snow and ice accumulation on trees and utility lines may cause power outages. The weather service says the morning commute will be severely impacted.
