BURNHAM - Three vehicles were involved in an accident at the intersection of West Freedom Avenue and Logan Boulevard at 2:02 p.m., Thursday, according to a report from Mifflin County Regional Police Department.
Police said a 2008 Ford F-150 driven by David Conner, 86, of Lewistown, hit two vehicles in the rear, who were stopped at a red traffic light in the left turn lane of West Freedom Avenue. According to the report, the first vehicle hit was a 2014 Ford Focus, driven by Robert Heimbaugh, 85, of Belleville. Police said Conner's truck then traveled past Heimbaugh's vehicle and hit the second vehicle, a 1997 Mercury Sable driven by Robin Cain, 57, of Reedsville. According to the report, the impact caused Cain's and Conner's vehicles to enter the intersection where they came to a stop.
Conner told police he had no recollection of the events prior to the collision, and was transported via ambulance to the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital emergency room, according to the report. Police said Cain went to the same emergency room by a private vehicle to seek treatment, while Heimbaugh was uninjured. According to the report all three vehicles involved had to be towed from the scene.
