NEW CUMBERLAND - Alden P. Amig, 87, of New Cumberland, passed away on Jan. 4, 2014, in hospice care.
He was born June 1, 1926, in Lewistown, a son of the late John C. Amig Jr. and Daisy (Clare) Amig.
He was preceded in death by his two best friends and brothers, John C. Amig III and Donald J. Amig- "sine quibus non sum."
Surviving are: his wife, Donna G. Amig; his daughter, Terri Amig and a grandson, Brion Conaway, of Cape May, N.J.; and his two sons, Bruce Amig of Charlotte, N.C., and Eric Amig of Westfield, N.J.
He retired from Champion Products in 1986.
He was a graduate of Lewistown High School and Penn State University, and was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran (tail gunner). He was a longtime and active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill.
He was an avid fly fisherman (sensing futility, brookies would just jump into his creel) and a 20-year volunteer at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. Alden was a lover of Central Pennsylvania's mountains and streams, always Penn State proud, and a good man.
