BELLEVILLE - Robert L. Morris, 93, of 3827 W. Main St., Belleville, died at 9:48 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at Golden LivingCenter-William Penn.

He was born April 19, 1920, in Belleville, a son of the late George D. and Catherine (Baker) Morris. His wife, Verna C. (Glick) Morris, whom he married on March 4, 1950, survives at Golden LivingCenterWilliam Penn.

Also surviving are: his children, Tom Glick and wife, Nancy, of Belleville, Thalia A. Durst and husband, John, of Belleville, Susan M. Lynch and husband, Fran, of Williamsport, and Robert D. Morris and wife, Terri, of Belleville; grandchildren, Larry Glick, Valerie Glick, Chris Durst, John Durst, Nicole Ackley, Brooks Morris and Jordy Morris; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla, Brittany, John, Samantha, Brenden, Leah, Katlin and Dustin; and great-great-grandchildren, Michael and Bryson.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, James Durst, in 2002.

Bob served in the United States Army during World War II. He owned and operated Morris' Grocery Store in Belleville from 1957 to 1966, and then went to work at New Holland from 1966 to 1984. After his retirement in 1984, he began working part-time at the Giant Store in Burnham.

He enjoyed traveling and bowling and was a member of the New Holland Bowling League. He was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Belleville, a member of the VFW Post No. 5935, Belleville, a member of McVeytown Lodge No. 376, F & AM and a member of Royal Arch Masons, Lewistown Chapter, No. 186. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Belleville, with Pastor Paul Kampa officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.
