LEWISTOWN - Shirley J. Goss, 77, of Lewistown, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at Geisinger - Lewistown Hospital after an extended illness.

Born March 21, 1936, in Port Royal, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late Brooks M. Lauver and Helen M. Wall.

Shirley is survived by: her husband, Paul W. Goss Jr., of Lewistown; children, Bob Richard and wife, Susan, of Lewistown, Karen Yohn, of Yeagertown, Paul Richard and wife, Rhonda, of McVeytown, and Patti Richard and partner, Andi, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepchildren, Kelly Chesney, and husband, John, of Middleburg, and Debbie Bair, and husband, Todd, of Mount Joy; one sister, Helen Patricia Mark, of Brookline Assisted Living; half sister, Donna M. Geedy, and husband, Jim, of Enola; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchil-dren; and 12 great-grand- children.

She was preceded in death by a half sister, Doreen J. Shick, and a half brother, Paul M. Wall Jr.

Shirley spent most of her early years raising her children and taking care of their home. She earned her GED in 1984 and worked outside the home at the Arrow Co., Fisher Electronics and the Hite Company. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.

She was a member of the Maitland Church of the Brethren but she and Paul more recently were members of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church.

Shirley loved going out to eat at many local eateries. She and her sister, Pat, were always very close. She loved family gatherings with all the kids and grandkids.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, with the Revs. Zorn and Thomas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made and sent to the Lewistown Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Third St., Lewistown, PA 17044.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
