HUNTINGDON - Non-conference play was unkind to the Trojans Monday, as a 57-46 loss to Huntingdon handed Mount Union its second loss in boys basketball action.
The Trojans trailed 25-22 at the half, but an 18-6 run by the Bearcats in the third put the game out of Mount Union's reach.
"They made a nice run on us in the third," said Mount Union coach Joe Komir, who said that missed shots by his team and some strong rebounding by Huntingdon resulted in the lopsided quarter.
Mount Union's Trevon Walker had a game-high 16 points.
In JV action, Huntingdon picked up an offensive rebound and to score just before the final buzzer for a 34-33 victory.
Mount Union (5-2) travels to Northern Bedford Dec. 30.
