LEWISTOWN - With Assistant District Attorney Dave Barron taking over in January as the new president judge of the Mifflin County Court of Common Pleas, the need arose to appoint a new assistant district attorney.
Mifflin County District Attorney Dave Molek announced on Tuesday Jeff Davis will fill that role. Davis will work alongside Molek and First Assistant District Attorney Mark Remy.
Davis is a graduate of Penn State University and Widener Law School. He is employed by the law firm of Baker and Clark. Davis was a juvenile probation officer in Mifflin County for 17 years.

"I'm happy to have the opportunity to serve the people of Mifflin County," Davis said.
Davis will have primary responsibility for DUI Court and preliminary hearings and domestic-related issues. Davis will also be approved for wiretap/consensual calls, and will assist with all regular duties of the district attorney's office.
"Davis will make an excellent addition to our staff with guidance from First Assistant District Attorney Mark Remy and myself. We look forward to getting back to nearly full strength with the loss and gain of Judge-elect Barron," Molek said.
Remy said Davis was about to start the best job he would ever have, one that provides an opportunity to help the victims of crime.
Davis lives in Brown Township with his wife Jennifer and two daughters.
