LEWISTOWN - Loa J. Semder, 73, of Lewistown, died at 3:15 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, in the emergency room of the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1940, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur N. and Renna M. (Shank) Mayes.
She is survived by: her husband, H. Paul Semder whom she married on Nov. 28, 1992; her stepchildren, Stacy Fox and husband, Robert, of Centre Hall; Brian Semder and wife, Heidi, of Mechanicsburg; Rodney Semder and wife, Amy, of Lewistown; stepgrandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Logan and Bailey Semder, and Garrett and Heather Fox.
She is also survived by: her sister, Sandra Stott and husband, Edward, of Lewistown; niece, Sunny Jo Murphy and her children, Miranda, Laurel and Jenny and great-niece Taylor; nephew, Douglas Stott and daughter, Teri Jo. Loa's niece and nephew were like children to her. She was always very happy and was a people person.
She was a graduate of Lewistown High School Class of 1958 and retired from Fisher Electronics with over 40 years of service.
Loa enjoyed shooting pool and was a member of the Mifflin County Pool Association. She was also a member of the City Hook and Ladder and Yeagertown Fire Companies. As well as a member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge.
Her funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main Street, Lewistown, with the Pastor Kurtis Swisher officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
