Edward W. ‘Jack’ Bickel Sr.

REEDSVILLE - Edward W. "Jack" Bickel Sr., 81, of Reedsville, died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at his home.

Born Aug. 3, 1932, in McClure, he was the son of the late Russell and Marietta (Klinger) Bickel.

He is survived by: his wife of 58 years, Arlene (Snook) Bickel; his children, Edward W. Bickel Jr., of Lewistown, and Audrey A. Bickel, of Reedsville; grandchildren, Jarrett R. Bickel, Kimberly A. Bickel and Kelly Jo Bickel; and his sisters, Nancy Bell, of Lewistown, and Cindy Erb, of Belltown.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ammerman and brothers-in- law, Deryl Ammerman and Clifton H. Bell Jr.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served for three years.

In 1991, Jack retired after 27 years from Standard Steel, in Burnham, where he worked in transportation for 20 years and was a supervisor for seven years.

He was a member of the Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, in Lewistown.

Jack loved playing baseball in his younger years and he enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycle.

He loved watching his Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State football.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Pastor Teresa Fink officiating.

Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.

His family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack's memory can be made to the Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, 611 S. Main St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
