BURNHAM - A 14-year-old girl was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, after she was hit by a car Tuesday on East Freedom Avenue in Burnham, an officer from Mifflin County Regional Police Department said.
Police did not identify the girl, however, a family member told The Sentinel the girl was Lilly Walters, of Burnham.
The officer said the girl was crossing Freedom Avenue quickly, trying to avoid a vehicle traveling east, when she ran into the path of the vehicle traveling west.

Firefighters speak with the driver of a Fame EMS ambulance Tuesday, after responding to an accident in on Freedom Avenue in Burnham involving a 14-year-old girl.
Four witnesses gave the same account, saying it looked like she never even saw the other vehicle, he said.
Walters was taken from the scene by Fame EMS and then flown via Life Flight to Geisinger Medical Center, where she is listed in fair condition, according to a nursing supervisor at the hospital.
Also assisting at the scene were Reedsville, Mount Union and Burnham Fire companies, City Hook and Ladder, Burnham Fire Police, Milroy Fire Police, Central Juniata EMS, Milroy EMS and Fame EMS.
