LEWISTOWN Karen L. McNitt, 61, of Lewistown, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, after a long bout with breast cancer.
Born Sept. 25, 1952, in San Diego, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Eva (Herrington) Dunmire.
Karen is survived by: her companion, Norman Wood, of Lewistown; her daughters, Amy Yoder and husband, Christopher, of Belleville, and Sherry McCoy and husband, Michael, of Waxhaw, N.C; grandchildren, Elizabeth Yoder, of Belleville, Christina Yoder, of Belleville, and Dylan and William McCoy, of North Carolina; her sisters, Kim L. Kline and husband, Kevin, of Potomac Falls, Va., Kelli L. Rocco and husband, Joseph, of Lewistown, and Kathy L. Folk and husband, Scott, of Burnham; niece and nephews, Angela M. Rocco, of Lewistown, and Jacob and Benjamin Kline of Virginia; and her dog, Katie.
She was 1970 graduate of Lewistown High School Class.
She was employed at Masland/Lear Corporation from 1991 to 2004. She drove school bus for R&S from 1984 to 1991 and for J&D's from 2006 to 2011.
Karen loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed boating, fishing and her Pittsburgh Steelers.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The interment will be private in Pleasant View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Karen's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
