Paul F. ‘Fritz’ Stover

BELLEVILLE - Paul F. "Fritz" Stover, 88, of Valley View Haven, formerly of Millheim, passed from this life on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013.

Born on May 7, 1925, in Woodward, Fritz was a son of the late Paul M. and Lottie Motz Stover.

He was a 1943 graduate of East Penns Valley High School. On June 9, 1946, he married Lottie M. Wolfe, who preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2009.

Fritz proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a founding partner of the Hosterman and Stover Hardware store in Millheim where he faithfully served the community for more than 40 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Millheim Fire Company, American Legion Keystone Post No. 444, Millheim Lions Club and the Penns Valley Men's Chorus. He also served on the Millheim Borough Council and was an ambulance driver. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting.

Fritz is survived by: two daughters, Cynthia L. (Dennis) Foust, of Spring Mills, and Cathy M. (Gary) Bartley, of Milesburg; one son, Randy P. (Carlene) Stover of Downingtown; six grandchildren, Deneen (Dave) Keller, Neil Foust, Jennifer Shawley, Christopher Shawley, Lynn Stover and Brian Stover; five great-grandchildren, Erica Deavor, Clarissa Keller, David Keller, Luke Shawley and Owen Shawley; one sister, Esther Haugh (Glen); and two brothers, Russell Stover (Violet) and Randall Stover.

In addition to his wife, Fritz was preceded in death by one brother, Lowell Stover.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at Steven R. Neff Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Julia Sprenkle officiating, assisted by Pastor Jennifer Shawley, Fritz's granddaughter.

Fritz will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery with full military honors.
