Kyson Russler, 6, of Burnham, paints a pumpkin at Mifflin County High School’s Safe Halloween event Saturday at the school. Students handed out reflective Halloween bags with an anti-drug slogan, drug free stickers and purple ‘Stand up and speak out’ bracelets to acknowledge that this week is Red Ribbon Week and Week of Respect.
The high school, junior high school and Mifflin County School District, in cooperation with the Mifflin County Regional Police, encourage staff and students to take a stand against bullying and drug use. Mifflin County students will be given the opportunity to participate in district-wide themes and show their commitment to a bully- and drug-free school district.
