Geological scientist Aaron Bierly, left, of Hershey, watches as Mike Shawver and his grandson Evan Moore, 7, both of Lewistown, attempt to start a fire using flint. Bierly showed children the importance of flint to local Native Americans and early settlers at the Reeds Gap State Park Kid’s Day held Saturday in Milroy. Kid’s Day was sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
