LEWISTOWN - A man who pleaded guilty to two charges stemming from an alleged child pornography case has twice failed to appear for his scheduled sentencing date. As a result, a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Judge Rick Williams issued a bench warrant on Friday for Gerald Woodring, 36, who is apparently on the lam.
One of the defendant's family members, who appeared in court on Friday, said he believes Woodring is hiding somewhere in the Harrisburg region.
Woodring was to be sentenced Friday on charges of criminal use of communication facility and selling obscene sexual material. Child pornography charges were previously withdrawn, according to court documents.
Bob Ferguson, Woodring's attorney, said that his client was probably facing a time served sentence, but has now made things worse in not showing up for his sentencing date.
Pennsylvania State Police said they found 63 videos depicting the sexual abuse of children on a computer at Woodring's apartment on Valley Street.
Several hard drives were seized from Woodring's residence and transported to the Computer Crime office at the state police barracks in Hollidaysburg, court documents indicate.
