October is Bullying Prevention Month, and on Monday, Tuscarora Junior High School students and staff participated in Blue Shirt Day, World Day of Bullying Prevention. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness. The school registered with ‘Stomp Out Bullying’ to participate in this activity. Stomp Out Bullying is a national anti-bullying and cyberbullying campaign for kids and teens in the U.S. and was first developed in 2005 as a way to decrease bullying and cyberbullying and increase school attendance and deter violence in schools. TJHS has been participating in the Olweus Anti-Bullying Prevention Program since 2009 and each year they participated to increase awareness and cultivate a positive school climate.
