MATTAWANA - A 22-year-old Newton Hamilton woman was arrested on an active warrant early Sunday morning after stopping her truck on the railroad tracks at a Bratton Township crossing, which was then struck by a freight train, Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown report.
According to a report from police, the woman drove her pickup onto the railroad tracks at state Route 103, near Shearer Lane. Police said she the got out of the vehicle prior to it being struck by a Norfolk Southern freight train.
Police said no one was injured in the incident.
Police said the woman had an active warrant out of Huntingdon County. Police attempted to take her into custody when she actively resisted arrest, according to the report. Police said she was detained and then found to be in possession of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe.
According to the report, she was transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility and released to the Mifflin County Sheriff's Department. Police said charges will be filed against the woman.
Police were assisted at the scene by McVeytown Fire and EMS, Norfolk Southern Police, and Granville Township Police Department.
