Vera Goss Krick Mauck

BELLEVILLE - Vera Goss Krick Mauck, 99, a resident of Valley View Haven, Belleville, died at 3:23 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Valley View Haven.

Born Feb. 17, 1914, in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late Theodore E. and Mertle M. (Clymans) Goss.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Leonard A. Krick, in 1984, and Harry F. Mauck, in 1997; two sons, James W. Krick and Leonard Krick; three brothers; three sisters; and a half sister.

Vera is survived by: her daughter, Shirley K. Haller of Lewistown; daughter-in- law Wilma Krick, of Marysville; four stepchildren; nine grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

She was valedictorian of the Yeagertown High School Class of 1931.

Early in life, Vera was employed at the Arrow Shirt Factory. She was also employed at the Rea & Derick Drug Store for 14 years and retired from the Milton School District as a teacher's aide.

She was a member of the Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Knotty Ladies Sewing Group.

She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Retired Teachers and School Employees Association and she attended the Derry Township Senior Citizens Center.

Vera enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at the Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Main Street, Yeagertown, with the Rev. Philip Tundel officiating. Interment will be in Mount Rock Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Main Street, Yeagertown, PA 17099 or to Valley View Haven, 4702 E. Main St., Belleville, PA 17004.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
