To the editor:
"The Crusades were a series of Holy Wars launched by the Christian states of Europe against the Saracens. The term 'Saracen' was the word used to describe a Muslim during the time of the Crusades." The Crusades started in 1095 and lasted until 1291.
"Any decision to attack Syria should be made for right reasons."
I can just picture in my mind the local media of that time having a headline similar to your editorial header, Sept.5.
In an article written by Prof. Michel Chossudovsky makes one think of the parallels between the Judaic-Christian world and the Muslim world.
"America's Holy Crusade against the Muslim World" - Prof Michel Chossudovsky, Global Research, Aug.30, 2010.
In it he states, "We have reached a decisive transition in the evolution of U.S. military doctrine. The "Global War on Terrorism" directed against al-Qaida launched in the wake of 9/11 is evolving towards a full-fledged "war of religion," a "holy crusade" directed against the Muslim World."
In Christian society of the Crusades era, Muslim society was considered the evil one. And in many circles today's Muslim society is considered the evil one. Well let us compare societies. I think we have no parallels between the Judaic-Christian world (United States) and the Muslim world (Middle East)
All human life is sacred in Islam.
From conception through to natural death only Allah (God), the Creator of all, can create life or ordain that it be taken away. The moment of death has been fixed in advance by God Almighty
The Supreme Court 1973 decision Roe v. Wade put into motion abortion, indiscriminate murder.
Islam is clear in its prohibition of homosexual acts. Islamic scholars cite these reasons for condemning homosexuality, based on teachings of the Quran and Sunnah:
It clashes with the "natural" order in which God created human beings;
It brings destruction of the family and the institutions of marriage;
It leads people to ignore God's guidance in other areas of life;
United States has homosexual marriage.
Muslim attitudes toward euthanasia:
Islam is totally opposed to euthanasia. The Quran says that Allah created all life and everything belongs to him; to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He pleases -Surah 42:50
Because of this, Muslim people are forbidden to kill themselves:
Destroy not yourselves. Surely Allah is ever merciful to you -Surah 4:29.
The United States has euthanasia in some states and it is being pushed nationally.
I pose the question, who is the evil one and where are the parallels? We have certain politicians who promote abortion, gay marriage, stem cell research, are liars and are utterly confused.
To help counteract these abominations we will participate in the National Life Chain on Oct. 6, 1 p.m. at the "Old Court House," Lewistown. Be prepared to pray!
