LEWISTOWN - A Lewistown man is in custody for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend on Aug 25, according to court documents.
Police said Matthew Robert Fink, 24, invited Brittany Reik to his home at 117 S. Walnut St. and an argument ensued after she discovered he was intoxicated. Reik told police Fink became irate when she took a drink from his hand and poured it down a drain, according to documents.
She also told police that Fink became violent toward her and physically assaulted her by trying to choke her, and threatened her with more violence, documents indicate. At one point Fink also threatened to shoot her with a loaded gun, according to documents.
Police said Reik told them Fink then asked her to leave and he put the gun away, but then grabbed a switchblade knife and proceeded to "poke" her with it several times as she attempted to leave. Reik said Fink also shoved her and almost caused her to fall down the stairs, documents indicate.
Reik then threatened to call police and Fink tried to take the phone from her, but she was able to cross the street and call 911, according to the documents.
Police said Fink was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment. He is in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 bail, according to the facility's website.
