James W. Hackney

BELLEVILLE - James W. Hackney, 36 years young, of state Route 655, Belleville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 31, 2013.

Born Dec. 5, 1976, in Lancaster, he was the son of James W. Hackney Jr., of Lancaster, and Sharon (Foster) Bender and stepfather, Steven Bender, of Belleville.

He is survived by two children, Riley S. Hackney and Lucas J. Hackney, of Bellefonte, and a brother, Steven E. Bender, of Milroy.

Jamie was a forklift operator at New Holland and a member of City Hook and Ladder, Yeagertown, and Brooklyn Fire companies. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

Jamie was an avid sportsman, spending much of his time outdoors. He enjoyed playing with his boys and being at all their sporting events. Jamie was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State football fan.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday Aug. 5, 2013, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Tevis officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
