LEWISTOWN - Stanley R. Bingaman, 83, of Lewistown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Nov. 4, 1929, in Selinsgrove, he was a son of the late Roger and Elsie (Meiser) Bingaman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stanley R. Bingaman Jr., and siblings, Ethel Barger, Myrtle Bell, Donald Bingaman and Dora Bingaman.
Stanley is survived by: his wife, Ruth (Stetler) Bingaman, whom he married on April 24, 1948; children, Pamela Bingaman, of Lewistown, Richard Bingaman and wife, Judy, of Lewistown, Karen McKalips and husband, Dennis, of Somerset, Susan Stewart and husband, Darrell, and Timothy Bingaman and wife, Jana, all of Lewistown; a sister, Elsie Black, of Texas; grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Sara, Joanna, Emily, Seth, Kyrin and Trinah; and great- grandchildren, Ruth, Samuel and David.
He loved spending time with his family and his beloved dogs, Missy and Louie. He retired from Standard Steel with 41 years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church, in Lewistown. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society. His family enjoyed listening to his many stories.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating. Interment will be in Vira Methodist Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
