Barn burns in blaze

Firefighters work to extinguish a barn fire that started around 11 a.m. Thursday at 6775 state Route 655 in Brown Township. Reedsville Fire Company Chief Danny Aumiller said the owner suffered minor injuries and two calves were lost in the fire. Aumiller said firefighters were on scene for about four hours and the cause of the fire is accidental. Reedsville Fire Company was assisted at the scene by Mifflin County Regional Police Department, Big Valley Ambulance, Milroy Fire Company and EMS, Brooklyn Hose Company, Junction Fire Company, City Hook and Ladder, East Derry Fire Company, Belleville Fire Company, Yeagertown Fire Company, Highland Park Fire Company, Allensville Fire Company, Burnham Fire Company and Fame EMS.
