LEWISTOWN - David F. Kline Sr., 79, of Walnut Lane, Lewistown, died Monday, July 14, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Lewistown the son of the late Homer and Ethelda (Deamer) Kline. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Bupp Kline, whom he married in 1987.
Surviving are: a son, David F. Kline Jr. and wife, Dorrie, of Lewistown; stepson, Jay Bailey; of Huntingdon Valley; stepdaughter, Jill Smullen and husband, Marcel, of Harrisburg; a sister, Pauline Kline, of Allentown; grandchildren, Nickea Vargas and husband, Jon, Jordan Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Joseph Smullen, Nickolas Smullen, Jay Smullen; great-grandchildren, Austin Vargas, Garrett Vargas and Carianne Vargas; daughter- in-law, Linda Kline; and "Rocky" the dog.
David was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene Wood Kline, in 1984, a son, James W. Kline, and grandson, Jason M. Kline.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from IPS in 1995 as a quality control inspector.
David enjoyed retired life by building furniture and restoring vintage vehicles. He was a truck and tractor man. Above all, he was a good and decent man. Dave loved to talk and tell stories.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev Karen McCachren officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
