Ethel P. Zeigler

REEDSVILLE - Ethel P. Zeigler, 56, of Reedsville, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in the loving company of her husband and daughter, at her home.

Born June 2, 1957, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Mary Ethel "Ettie" (Rowe) Petrie.

Ethel is survived by: her husband, Stephen P. Zeigler, whom she married on Oct. 28, 1978; her daughter, Stephanie L. Strickler and husband, Ryan; granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Strickler; and her siblings, Leslie D. Petrie and wife, Carol, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Jonathan L. Petrie and companion, Jordan Phillips, of Palm Springs, Calif., and Margaret Davis and husband, Richard, of Reedsville.

She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Cara E. Zeigler, on June 4, 2004; a brother, David Petrie, on Jan. 9, 1998; and an infant brother.

Ethel was a 1975 graduate of Chief Logan High School. She was formerly a daycare provider, a sales consultant for Longaberger Baskets, a switchboard operator at Geisinger, of Lewistown, and a clerk for Rhinehelder Auctioneers. Her many talents included painting, jewelry making, handmade wool creations, quilting and sewing.

She was actively involved in many areas at East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church for many years, and most recently attended Yeagertown United Methodist Church.

Ethel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a devoted friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her and will be sadly missed.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Heller- Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with the Rev. Thomas Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in Ethel's memory may be made to Yeagertown United Methodist Church, Mann Avenue, Yeagertown, PA 17099.
