BURNHAM - Doris J. Eward, 86, of Burnham, died at 2:02 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at her daughter's home in Huntingdon.
Born on Sept. 1, 1926, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late William Sr. and Hope (Weller) Frohm.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on May 27, 1983, by her husband, James G. Eward, whom she married on July 27, 1946.
Doris was also preceded in death by in-laws, Earl Eward, Daisy Smith, William and Martha Gregg, Marshall Eward, Glenn Eward and Charles "Newt" Eward.
Doris is survived by: daughter, Connie Foster and companion, Allan Swope, of Huntingdon; brother, William Frohm Jr. and wife, Lola, of McConnellstown; grandson, James Foster Jr. and wife, Bey, of Fair Hill, Md.; stepgranddaughter, Amber Swope, of Harvey's Lake; and great-grandsons, Conlan and Devlin Foster.
She is also survived by in-laws, Dorothy Marks, Donald Eward, Betty Bishop, Ruth Kauffman, Marie Kline, Lucy Bishop, Robert and Mabel Fultz and Robert Eward.
She worked for 48 years at the American Viscose Corp.
Doris was a member of Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church.
She volunteered for the Senior Daycare Center, in Burnham, and helped run the senior citizens square dancing program.
Doris loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed attending the men's softball games in State College and tournaments in Burlington, N.C.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Pastor Laura Kyler officiating.
Interment will take place in Juniata Memorial Park.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the funeral home.
