John ‘Louis’ Pandel Sr.

LEWISTOWN - John "Louis" Pandel Sr., 90, of Fairview Place, Lewistown, died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his residence.

Louis was born April 28, 1923, in Burnham, the son of the late Otis and Edna (Shingler) Pandel. He is survived by his wife, Lena (Mumaw) Pandel. Louis and Lena observed their 62nd anniversary on June 19, 2013.

Also surviving are two sons, John L. Pandel Jr. and wife, Candy, of Pleasant Acres, and Roger N. Pandel and wife, Carol, of New Tripoli, and grandchildren, Kevin, Laura, Michael and Christine, all of New Tripoli.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Otis.

He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Penn State and a Scout Master for many years.

Louis was the owner of Pandel's Insurance Agency in Burnham for 61 years.

In earlier years, he enjoyed hiking, camping and traveling with Lena throughout the United States and various countries.

One of his favorite pastimes was eating his "ice cream."

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Lewistown.

Mr. Pandel's wishes were to have private services.
