The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch in effect until 10 p.m. Thursday evening in Central Pennsylvania including Mifflin, Juniata, Huntingdon and Snyder counties.
The National Weather Service in State College has issued a flash flood watch for a portion of Central Pennsylvania including Mifflin, Juniata, Huntingdon and Snyder counties through late evening.
Heavy downpours will produce rainfall rates exceeding two to three inches per hour. Widespread storm totals of one to two inches are expected, with three inches plus possible where slow moving storms deposit higher amounts.
Flash flooding will be possible due to excessive rainfall rates this afternoon and evening.Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas is likely.
