McVEYTOWN - Darlene E. Silfies, 61, of U.S. Highway 522 South, McVeytown, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 19, 1952, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Evelyn E. (Burnheimer) Snook Kline and husband, Stanford Kline, of McVeytown, and the late Fern D. Snook. Her high school sweetheart, Danny R. Silfies, whom she married Oct. 28, 1972, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Ryan L. Silfies and his special girlfriend, Michelle, of Bellefonte; a granddaughter, Fern Silfies; a grandson, Tagg Silfies; and an aunt, Carlene Burnheimer.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David F. Snook, on Nov. 17, 1993.
Employed for 25 years at the former Scotty's Fashions, she last worked at Asher's Chocolates in Lewistown for eight years.
Darlene was a member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, in McVeytown.
She enjoyed spending time at their camp along the Juniata River, fishing and kayaking. Two memorable adventures with her husband were trips to Alaska and the Caribbean.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Revs. Scott Andrews and Jeffrey Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
