Police: Crash injures child

Emergency personnel work at the scene of a crash that happened when a black Pontiac Sunfire carrying three passengers struck a tree around 8:45 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 522 near Armory Lane in Derry Township. Mifflin County Regional Police said the driver, a man born in 1983, and a passenger, a male born in 1982, were taken by ambulance to the Lewistown Hospital and a male child, born in 2011, was taken by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment of a head injury. Police were assisted at the scene by Fame EMS, City Hook and Ladder, Brooklyn Hose Company and Derry Township Fire Police.
