BEAVER SPRINGS - The theme for the ninth annual Midd-West Relay For Life is "Planting Seeds of Hope To Grow a Cure for Tomorrow." The two-day event begins at 4 p.m. on June 14 at the Beaver Fairgrounds in Beaver Springs. The goal for this year's Relay is $43,200.
Opening ceremonies begin at 4 p.m. on June 14. The Survivor Ceremony, which includes an introduction of Honorary Chairs Natalie Knepp and Clarine Troup, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The Survivors' Lap follows at 6 p.m.
The Survivors' Lap is an inspirational time when survivors are invited to circle the track together and celebrate the victories they have achieved over cancer.
The Fight Back Ceremony begins at 8 p.m. The Luminaria Ceremony is set for 9 p.m. After dark is a time to honor people who have been touched by cancer and to remember loved ones lost to the disease. Candles are lit inside bags filled with sand, each one bearing the name of a person touched by cancer, and participants walk a lap in silence.

Saturday's events also include Zumba with B.J. Wolfley at 8:30 a.m., massages from Life's Little Luxuries and hair donation with Locks of Love.
The benefit Basket Auction beginning at noon on Saturday will include an official New York Giant's Football, autographed by Henry Hynoski, member of the 46th Super Bowl Championship Team. The football was donated for the auction by a member of St. Paul's Wonder Walkers.
Children's activities include a Scavenger Hunt at 7 p.m. on Friday and Kid Relay Olympics at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the West Snyder Baseball Field. There also will be bounce houses, children's games and a puppet show.
