LEWISTOWN - Lewistown Borough Council voted at its Tuesday meeting to bid out a $25,000 paving project for three sections of streets in the borough.
The first section of road that will be paved is Center Street from Spanogle Avenue to Felmlee Lane. The second section is on Center Street from Walnut Street to Spanogle Avenue. Council also selected Spanogle Avenue from Spring Street to the alley near Mount Rock Commons as a possibility, if it has enough money.
Council has been discussing the idea of getting a website for the Borough of Lewistown. At the meeting the council spoke with a representative from Smallmouth Media Group about potentially creating a website for the borough.
Borough Solicitor Jeff Snook recommended council ask for quotes and provide a list of what will be included on the website. Council wants the website to provide contact information for each member, have job applications and eventually to have the borough ordinances listed.
Council also authorized the appropriate officers to sign the Funding Adjustment and Reimbursement request which requests money from the Pennvest grant.
Council awarded acceptable bids for used equipment. The council will recycle or scrap items that were not purchased.
In other business:
Noerr Landscaping was approved to close the alley behind Pannebaker Avenue to take down a tree on May 30.
Council also acknowledged a receipt of the 2012 audits for the Borough and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Lewistown Borough Council normally meets at 5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at the Lewistown Municipal Building on East Third Street.
