MILLERSBURG - Elsie Rebecca Yoder, 78, of Grange Hall Road, Millersburg, passed away on May 20, 2013, at her home, after an extended illness.
Born on Sept. 6, 1934, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Clarence and Arie Edna (Byler) Yoder.
Elsie was a homemaker who was known for her baking and selfless acts of caring for her family and friends.
She was a member of Evangelical Brethren Church, Berrysburg.
Elsie is survived by: her loving husband, Benjamin Yoder, whom she married on May 26, 1955; three daughters, Magdalene (Clifford) Hawbaker, of Chambersburg, JoAnna (J. Richard) Lehman, of Columbia, Ky., Judith (Galen) Hostetter, of Elizabethville, and Rachel (Steven) Shetterly, of Millersburg; three sisters, Anna Hostetler, Mary Kurtz, of Belleville, and Beulah Kauffman, of Reedsville; four brothers, David Yoder, of McVeytown, Frances Kanagy, of Chambersburg, Raymond Yoder, of Reedsville, Marlin Yoder and John Yoder, of Buhler, Kan.;13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her twin sister, Esther Peachey; a brother, Samuel Yoder; a sister, Arlene Spicher; and a grandson, Daryl Hawbaker.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Free Grace Brethren In Christ Church, 2134 Route 209, Millersburg, with the Revs. Delmas Hock and Richard Lehman officiating. Interment will take place in Berrysburg Evangelical Brethren Cemetery, Berrysburg.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, at the church.
