LEWISBERRY - Mifflin County led Red Land, 1-0, in Commonwealth Division softball action Wednesday, but poor weather conditions forced the game into a suspension during the bottom of the second.
Mifflin County pitcher Shelby Lyter - who had already notched three strikeouts - had the mound with a runner on third and two outs when the game was suspended.
In the first inning, Mifflin County scored its run when Tara Kibe hit one in the gap to left center to bring home Maggie Wray from second. Previously, Rachel Zimmerman had crossed home on an error in leftfield, but the run was recalled when it was determined Zimmerman failed to touch third on her way home.
Mifflin County hosts State College today.
