Lois was a 1938 graduate of Yeagertown High School. She was employed at the Arrow Shirt Factory for 17 years and at Goss Candy Company for 13 years.
She was a member of Vira United Methodist Church.
Lois was a woman of grace and strength in every area of her life. She showed love and kindness to every person she came in contact with and made each person feel special.
Lois touched the lives of all around her in small but powerful ways. She lived a life of faith and love and encouraged everyone around her to do good, do right and be better - even when it wasn't the easy thing to do.
Through the good and bad of life, Lois clung to her faith and family and cherished the gift of each and every moment with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No miracle or mercy, great or small, went unnoticed or without thanks. She had a servant's heart and worked to help others and make their lives easier in any way that she could (cleaning a house, making a meal or mowing the lawn.)
Lois was the cornerstone of her huge family, and no holiday, birthday party or celebration will ever be the same without her smile, love, traditions or homemade birthday cakes made with lots of love.
She was a humble lady with a special purpose.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., with the Revs. Jonas Hissong and Thomas Morningstar officiating. Interment will be in Vira Methodist Cemetery.
