Donald A. Myers

MIFFLINTOWN - Donald A. Myers, 79, of Mifflintown, died at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.

Born on March 21, 1934, in Greenwood Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Park A. and Ethel M. (Ferguson) Myers. On Oct. 13, 1956, he married his wife, Florence R. (Ranck) Myers, with whom he shared more than 46 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2002.

He is survived by: two sons, Randy L. Myers and his wife, Merry, and Scott D. Myers and his wife, Joann, all of Mifflintown; his companion of eight years, Charlotte F. Peterson, of Mifflintown; three brothers, Earl Myers and James Myers, both of Newport, and Kenneth Myers, of Millerstown; two sisters, Ann Willow, of Liverpool, and Jean Newman, of Camp Hill; and he leaves behind three grandchildren, Michael S. Myers, Daniel L. Myers, and Kyle M. Myers; as well as one great-granddaughter, Angela M. Myers.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Jane Miller and Mary Rusho, and four brothers, Roscoe Myers, Paul Myers, Howard Myers and Marvin Myers, in infancy.

Don retired as a mechanic with more than 40 years of service at Hess Tire, Lewistown.

Mr. Myers was a veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving his country with the U.S. Army and he was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. James B. Wooster Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at the funeral home.
