Mifflin County High School sophomore Scott Bishop performs a pre-trip inspection while PMTA scorer Matt Campbell, of Millerstown, grades him at the 20th annual Student Safe Driving Competition held Tuesday at the Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center, in Mill Creek. The event is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, Central Chapter. Three students from each of the 12 schools in Mifflin, Juniata and Huntingdon counties are invited to participate. Cash prizes are awarded to the top students and a traveling trophy is awarded to the top school. Each student is given a driving skill test and a perception ability and knowledge of Pennsylvania driving rules and regulations test. Juniata’s Clay Ritter took first place and a $500 prize.
