Blaze claims home

Firefighters work to extinguish flames that engulfed a home Sunday evening in Lewistown. The blaze started around 11 p.m. at 124 Chestnut St., with emergency personnel responding from United Fire and Rescue, West Granville Fire Co., Brooklyn Hose Co., East Derry Fire Co., Granville Fire Co., City Hook and Ladder, Lewistown Police Department, Fame EMS and Lewistown, Derry Township and Granville Township fire police. A rehab area for responders was set up in the parking lot of the Mifflin County Housing Authority, but fire officials said as of 11:45 p.m., no one had been injured by the blaze. Further information was not available as of press time Sunday.
