To the editor:
The Rotary Club of Lewistown would like to say thank you to everyone who helped make our 2013 Seafood Dinner a big success. The dinner was held at the Lewistown Moose Family Center, whose experienced staff help us tremendously. From the guests who purchased tickets and supported our auction to the vendors and suppliers who helped us with ordering all the supplies and the Rotarians and their families who showed up to pull it all together and make it happen.
The proceeds of our auction will go toward purchasing three shelter boxes to help those in disaster stricken areas. For more info on this great program, please visit Shelterbox.org. Other monies raised from the event will go toward local Rotary projects such as: providing donuts, coffee and juice at the Relay for Life breakfast; providing all third grade students in the Mifflin County School District with dictionaries; sponsoring the Klondike Derby at the Seven Mountains Boy Scout Camp; sponsoring the Big Valley Invitational track and field event; honoring our Veterans on Veteran's Day; addressing and assisting other community needs as they occur.
Thanks again to all involved. If you would like more information on our local Rotary Club, or would like to volunteer for Rotary projects contact any Rotarian or visit us on Facebook.
