LEWISTOWN - John C. Morris, 69, of Squaw Hollow Road, died Tuesday March 26, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.
He was born Dec. 3, 1943, in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of the late John C. Sr. and Lady Louise (Harris) Morris. John is survived by his wife, Sharon (Fike) Morris, whom he married in 1983.
Also surviving are: children, Kathryn Morris, of Lewistown, and Matthew Morris and wife, Alissa, of Burnham; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Jameson; a half brother, James Moore; and half sister, Delores, both of West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Lee Larsh.
He was dearly loved by his wife, children and grandchildren.
John worked as a radiographer at Lewistown Hospital before retiring in 2005.
He was an avid reader, animal lover, enjoyed woodworking, sketching, fishing, creating scrimshaw, whittling and carving walking sticks. He also acted in several productions with the Stone Arch Theater group.
He received a degree in biology and chemistry from Bethany College, West Virginia, and did postgraduate studies at the University of Virginia in anatomy and environmental sciences and taught anatomy.
He was the director of the radiology department at Lewistown Hospital and Richmond Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Va.
He was instrumental in the development of the bone densitometry service at Lewistown Hospital.
He was a sewage enforcement officer in Mifflin County, served on the Mifflin County Planning Commission for 10 years, served on the Granville Township Zoning Hearing Board, was manager at a wood drying kiln in West Virginia and was currently serving on the Mifflin County Comprehensive Planning Board.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
