David S. Peachey

BELLEVILLE - David S. Peachey, 74, of 62 Poe St., Belleville, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.

Born June 29, 1938, in Reedsville, he was a son of the late John E. and Katie (Spicher) Peachey. His wife, Beverly G. (Kauffman) Peachey, whom he married on April 23, 1960, survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: children, David L. Peachey, of 414 Hickory Lane, Belleville, and companion, Krystal Bogus, of Second Street, Belleville, and Donald J. Peachey and wife, Sandra, of 768 Belleville Lane, Belleville; grandchildren, Vincent Peachey, Brooke Peachey and fiance, James Shilling, Kendra Peachey and Garrett Peachey; siblings, Rebecca Yoder and husband, Enos, of Reedsville, Sara Yoder and husband, Dave W., of McVeytown, Marian Peachey, of Belleville, and John B. Peachey and wife, Toni, of Belleville; and a number of special nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra J. Peachey, on Aug. 10, 1976, and three brothers, Ivan, Irvin and Raymond Peachey.

Dave served from 1960 to 1962 with the 1W service, in Harrisburg, at the state hospital. After his 1W service, he became employed at New Holland, in Belleville, where he retired in 1998 with 35 years of service. After retirement, he provided taxi service for the local Amish community.

Dave enjoyed camping, being at the river lot, going to his grandchildren's sporting events, hunting and going to Camp Bittersweet, where he was a member.

He was also a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church and the Faith at Work Sunday school class.

A funeral service will be held in his memory at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, with Pastors Alan Kauffman and Herb Zook and Minister Lauren Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, at the church.

Arrangements are under the care of Henderson Funeral Home Inc., 3813 W. Main St., Belleville.
