LEWISTOWN - The 15th annual More than an Auction to benefit Sacred Heart School and Parish will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 21, at Mifflin County Youth Park, Reedsville.
The event kicks off with a chicken barbeque and Spanish cuisine at 11 a.m., Chairperson Elizabeth Armstrong said. Entertainment will include live music from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children's activities include pony rides, a corn pool, games, face painting, crafts and dollar grab bags. Armstrong said there is no cost for the event.
The live auction starts at 1 p.m. Featured items include a Penn State University basketball signed by the head coach, a Notre Dame football signed by Coach Brian Kelly, a one-carat diamond dinner ring, a Classic Elegance storm door, four burial plots valued at $3,000, five nights of passes to Port Royal Speedway, 2,000 pounds of pellet fuel, a Firestorm hunting game call, a Juniata Valley Winery four-course dinner for six with wine pairing and more. Each class at Sacred Heart School will donate special quilts and large gift baskets to the cause.

George Hazard, left, and Isabella Armstrong, students at Sacred Heart School, hold items set to be auctioned at the school’s 15th annual More than an Auction benefit event.
Armstrong said the auction is the largest fundraiser of the year for the school, but it's more than a benefit event. The auction is also a way to give back to the community with a family-fun afternoon.
"Over the years, we've had a lot of support," Armstrong said. "Without the help of parents, parishioners and the community, we really wouldn't have the event at all."
Sacred Heart School is still accepting items for the auction. For more information, call Elizabeth Armstrong at 994-0831 or visit More than an Auction on Facebook.
