MIFFLINTOWN - A public hearing was held Tuesday to discuss proposals for projects funded under the Juniata County Community Development Block Grant Program.
The CDBG is a program under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that provides funding for community improvement projects. Approximately $230,000 is estimated to be available to Juniata County this year, said David Grey, SEDA-Council of Governments Project Coordinator.
Grey said 2013 project proposals include:
New equipment for the Mifflin-Juniata Dental Clinic;
Fayette Township Oakland Mills pump station project;
Port Royal Municipal authority wastewater treatment plant;
Lewistown Municipal authority;
Black Log Road EMS tower project for Juniata County Emergency Management;
Mifflin Borough storm water system at Valley Street and Railroad Ave.;
Mifflintown Municipal Authority Washington Ave. water line;
Office space for Spruce Hill Township.
The final public hearing and application approval is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 14 in the Bousum Building, Mifflintown.
