HUNTINGDON - Gladys R. Dixon, 88, formerly of Huntingdon, went to be with the Lord at 10:50 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Woodland Retirement Community, Orbisonia.
Born Aug. 19, 1924, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Freda (Peck) Staley. Her husband, Clarence Luther Dixon, preceded her in death on May 20, 1999.
Surviving are: six children, Joann Patterson and husband, Richard, of Huntingdon, Sandra Staley Karstetter, of Lewistown, Gail Beers, of Mill Creek, Larry Walters and wife, Vicki, of Lewisberry, Ronnie Walters, of Huntingdon, and Peggy Walters, of Huntingdon; three siblings, Donald Staley, of Lewistown, Jean Boozel, of McVeytown, and Barbara Seaholtz, of South Mountain; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: a son, Gary Walters; three sisters, Betty, Pauline and Doris; two brothers, Elwood and James; and three grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and prior to retirement, was employed at the former Arrow Shirt Factory in Huntingdon, Huntingdon Apparel and the Lake Raystown Resort
Gladys formerly attended Free Methodist Church, in Huntingdon.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Revs. Darvin Donahey and Samuel Peck officiating. Interment will be in Atkinson Mills United Methodist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
