Board of commissioners sets agenda for March 8

LEWISTOWN - During a brief workshop meeting Thursday, Mifflin County Commissioner Otis Riden announced the following agenda items for the commissioners' March 7 business meeting:

A request from Mifflin County Planning Director Bill Gomes for $15,000 of the Act 13 Marcellus Shale Legacy funds to assist in the development of a boat launch in Bratton Township. Gomes said the funding is necessary for survey and easement work at the proposed site.

A purchase of service agreement for use, if needed, by Children & Youth, with Adelphoi Village Inc. of Latrobe.

A purchase of service agreement with Nancy S. Searer, Esquire, of Lewistown, as Guardian Ad Litem at a rate of $50 per hour. The agreement runs through June 30, 2014.

Approval of the amended by-laws of the Advisory Committee of the Mifflin County Children and Youth Services department.

The reappointment of Mary Ann Stratton of Lewistown to the advisory committee of the Mifflin County Children and Youth Services department.

The following appointments to the advisory committee of the Mifflin County Children and Youth Services department: Steve Schaaf, of Lewistown, Nancy Records, of Lewistown and Judi Wilson Hubbard, of Belleville.

The resignation of Vicki Bilheimer as a part-time corrections officer effective Feb. 26.

The hiring of Erin Cavanaugh as a part-time corrections officer effective March 3.
