February 28, 2013
Lewistown Sentinel

To the editor:

In response to Kim Fry's comments to my letter:

Kim, I want to thank you for the compliment. You have classified me with the following individuals. They apparently, in your opinion, suffered the same paranoid delusions and concerns I have:

Signers of the Declaration of Independence:

John Hancock (president of the Continental Congress), Samuel Adams, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Harrison, Josiah Bartlett, William Whipple, Matthew Thornton, Robert Treat Paine, Elbridge Gerry, Stephen Hopkins, William Ellery, Roger Sherman, Samuel Huntington, William Williams, Oliver Wolcott, William Floyd, Philip Livingston, Francis Lewis, Lewis Morris, Richard Stockton, John Witherspoon, Francis Hopkinson, John Hart, Abraham Clark, Robert Morris, Benjamin Rush, John Morton, George Clymer, James Smith, George Taylor, James Wilson, George Ross, Caesar Rodney, George Read, Thomas McKean, Samuel Chase, William Paca, Thomas Stone, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, George Wythe, Richard Henry Lee, Thomas Nelson Jr., Francis Lightfoot Lee, Carter Braxton, William Hooper, Joseph Hewes, John Penn, Edward Rutledge, Thomas Heyward Jr., Thomas Lynch Jr., Arthur Middleton, Button Gwinnett, Lyman Hall, and George Walton.

Signers of the Constitution:

George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison Jr., Thomas Mifflin, Robert Morris, George Clymer, Thomas FitzSimons, Jared Ingersoll, James Wilson, Gouverneur Morris, George Read, Gunning Bedford Jr., John Dickinson, Richard Bassett, Jacob Broom, James McHenry, Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, Daniel Carroll, John Blair, William Blount, Richard Dobbs Spaight, Hugh Williamson, John Rutledge, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, Charles Pinckney, Pierce Butler, William Few, Abraham Baldwin, John Langdon, Nicholas Gilman, Nathaniel Gorham, Rufus King, William Samuel Johnson, Roger Sherman, William Livingston, David Brearley, William Paterson, Jonathan Dayton, and William Jackson

They all understood that a government out of control is a danger to our liberties.

I am in good company.
