LEWISTOWN - Bret L. Treaster was designated to finish his late mother's position as Derry Township Tax Collector and he has announced his intention to seek a future term.
Treaster has been a Deputy Tax Collector for the past four years and has been around the office for the past 16 years.
Treaster has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
Treaster said he will continue to serve the needs of the Derry Township taxpayers.
"I am asking for your support in my endeavor to fill this position and continue to serve you as faithfully as my mother and my father did in the prior 15 years," he said. "I will be expanding my office hours to five days a week."
Treaster said he would be available to answer any questions or resolve any issues regarding taxpayers needs on a full-time basis starting in March.
"So I am asking that you please cast your vote to put me in this office and allow me to continue to be your Derry Township Tax Collector," Treaster said.
Treaster has been married for 21 years to his wife Jennifer and they have two children, Briette and Braden.
